Supervised by Dr. Martha SmithMy thesis works to understand the role the Vietnam War played in mobilizing gay and lesbian liberationist movements between 1963 and 1975. My research will compare how Vietnam was discussed in periodicals tailored to gay men, versus those for lesbian women, to explore the differences and similarities between how the conflict impacted and ignited gay men versus lesbian or lesbian feminist activism.
