The Harvest is the University of Saskatchewan College of Arts and Science School for the Arts – Drama’s first production of the 2026-27 theatre season.

In the basement of a small evangelical church in Idaho, five young missionaries prepare for a trip to the Middle East. For Josh, the mission offers a chance to leave his old life behind. Still grieving the recent death of his father, he has bought a one-way ticket and has no intention of coming home. But when his estranged sister unexpectedly returns, determined to stop him from leaving, long-buried tensions begin to surface.

Set over the final days before the group’s departure, Samuel D. Hunter’s The Harvest is an intimate, funny, and deeply human play about faith, family, grief, sexuality, and the quest for certainty. As these young people prepare for a trip across the world, they are forced to confront what remains unresolved at home.
