The New Feminist Research Lecture Series
About the Series
Initiated by Dr. T. L. Cowan in 2011, the Feminist Research Lecture Series strives to bring visibility to Women's and Gender Studies (WGST) by hosting an event rooted in feminist methodology and collegial dialogue. This series not only seeks to enhance the recognition of feminist and interdisciplinary research but also aims to acknowledge the significant role of community.
"The social life of feminism doesn't get talked about too much but it's absolutely central to what we do. Feminist and queer scholars at many institutions can feel, or be made to feel, marginal. My goal is to create a couple of nights a year when we're absolutely central." - Dr. Cowan
The series serves as a model for students, showcasing the possibilities within feminist research and sexuality studies, encouraging rigorous and imaginative exploration. Having spanned over a decade, the research series has consistently attracted both emerging and established scholars from across the country.
