img_0278.jpg

You will meet your session leader at the T. rex in the Museum of Natural Sciences at the session start time (9:30am or 12:15pm) to take you to your field trip location, and then bring your group back to the T. rex or to your bus at the end of the session (11:30am or 2:15pm).

Watch for an email the week before your field trip to connect you to your session leaders!

We're late or lost! What should we do?

Call or text your field trip session leader or our program coordinator Andrew Whiting at the numbers sent to you via email the week before your field trip session. We will come and find you and/or adjust your meeting time.

Funding to cover transportation costs

If you teach at a school that needs extra support, you can request free bussing when you register thanks to funding we receive from Community Initiatives Fund. The free bus rides will be offered on a first-come first-serve basis. If you didn't request this at the time of registration, you can still do so by contacting us at 306-955-5729 or museum.naturalsciences@usask.ca.

Are your field trip sessions in wheelchair accessible spaces?

The Museum of Natural Sciences and most of the field trip labs, classrooms, and other spaces are wheelchair accessible. Some of the museum's displays and exhibits may be harder to view. There is an elevator right in the museum to get to the second floor, where there are more displays you may wish to explore. Please note that the Observatory is not wheelchair accessible.

If you have visitors in your group with special needs, please email museum.naturalsciences@usask.ca or call 306-966-5729 and we will be happy to answer questions and do our best to make accommodations.

Do field trip sessions include a visit to the Museum of Natural Sciences?

Some include a tour and others don't, so please check your session details. You are always welcome to spend as much time as you want at the Museum of Natural Sciences, before or after your session. We have a scavenger hunt tour and some other resources here that can help you make the most of your visit.

The museum is located near working classrooms, labs, offices, and study spaces. We also have many artifacts that are fragile and valuable and loud noises or tapping on the the glass enclosures will scare the animals. Please do not run or use loud voices and be respectful of others in the museum and in nearby spaces. Children must be supervised by adults.

What else can we do on campus?

Spend the day at the university! There are several other places you might like to visit or book a tour at such as the Museum of Antiquities, Art Galleries, Diefenbaker Canada Centre, Little Stone Schoolhouse, Canadian Light Source, campus buildings, and the outdoor spaces.
