From the twelfth to the twenty-first century, Thomas Becket has become a symbol employed by politicians and artists alike to reject tyranny. In honour of the Becket 2020 celebrations, this lecture will explore the diverse representations of Thomas through literature and art that keep drawing in audiences from all periods.
