Intro to 3D Needle Felting Workshop

In this project based one day workshop students will create a decorative, articulated teddy bear (or bunny, or other cute animal creature). Using wool and felting needles to create this creature, students will learn the basics of both additive and subtractive sculptural needle felting. The use of doll making needles and creating articulation on the shoulders and hips will make the creature posable.

Syllabus

  • Creating basic creature form with wool and felting needles
  • Additive and subtractive sculpting techniques as they pertain to 3D felting
  • Articulation of joints in creature making
  • Completion of one posable needle felted creature
