We are seeking Program Engagement Facilitators for our 2026 children's summer camps.
Length of assignment: 9 weeks – June 22 to August 21, 2025
Rate of pay: $20 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am-4:30pm and/or 8:30am – 4:00pm for 37.5 hours per week
Location: USask Museum of Natural Sciences
Camp description:
Explore the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods of Earth's history with us! Our summer camps for kids aged 6-10 offer the opportunity to get curious and creative during a fun-filled week of activities anchored in the sciences of geology and paleontology. Activities include building a dinosaur puppet, playing an adventure game set in the time of the dinosaurs, creating a dinosaur sandbox, examining specimens, and exploring the museum while learning about the earth’s formation and geological history, evolution, volcanoes, and mass extinctions.
Education:
This position is open to undergraduate students and recent alumni. USask graduate students are not eligible. Candidates will have knowledge and interest in geology, paleontology, biology and/or ecology through high school, college, or university programs.
Experience:
- Knowledge, skills, and/or interest in the natural sciences
- Knowledge, skills, and/or interest in the dramatic arts
- Experience teaching or leading children’s groups, especially ages 6-10
- Experience with creative play in an educational setting
Candidates should also be enthusiastic, conscientious, and responsible, have good verbal communication skills, be highly collaborative, and have a commitment to learning and improving. Familiarity with Indigenous Knowledge and an interest in presenting culturally inclusive activities is an asset.
Duties:
Reporting to the Camp Coordinator, the Program Engagement Facilitator’s tasks will include collaboratively developing the camp's science, drama, and art activities, delivering the activities in a creative and engaging way, evaluating the activities and working with their colleagues to make improvements, helping our young campers enjoy their camp experience in a safe and inclusive environment, setting up and cleaning up the activities and supplies, and ensuring the smooth running of the camps each day.
Candidates must also be:
- A Canadian citizen or a permanent resident or have refugee status in Canada
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment

Other:
- Police check and vulnerable sector search (documentation will be required if offered a position)
- First aid certification is an asset
- Occupational health and safety certification is an asset
