Itinerary:
From your evaluations of past bus tours, we have chosen Batoche and Duck Lake for our 2026 Tour:
Duck Lake Regional Interpretive Centre 10:15 am – 11:45 am: Experience life from days gone by. From the every day struggles of the Pioneers, to the devastating impact that the near extinction of the Bison had on the First Nations, to the harsh aftermath of the North West Resistance for the Métis. |
Lunch11:45 am – 12:30 pm: at the DLRIC. Lunch includes soup [chicken noodle & vegetable], sandwich [ham/roast beef & egg salad], dessert and coffee. |
Batoche National Historic Site 1 pm to 3:35 pm: Journey back to 19th century and learn about Métis settler life on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River. Batoche is the scene of Louis Riel and Gabriel Dumont's last stand during the Northwest Resistance of 1885 as well as a symbol of Métis resilience and cultural renewal. We will have access to the Batoche Shuttle [weather permitting]. |
With regards to dietary restrictions , we are unfortunately unable to accomodate them if they fall outside of the set menu. We recommend you bring your own lunch if that is the case. |
Around 3:45 pm – 4 pm we will board the bus for our drive back to Saskatoon arriving at our drop off location around 5:00 pm. |
