Registration Period

  • Registration opens Monday, August 24, 12:00 p.m.
  • Registration for ALL courses closes Monday, August 31, 5:00 p.m.
  • Courses begin the week of September 12, 2026.
  • When you register for an in-person course (excluding Studio Arts), Amilia will ask if you would like to register for the online version of the course for a $20.00 [GST included] fee. You can choose to add the online version or Skip and move on. SSCL recommends that in-person course registrants give serious consideration to adding the online version [for $20.00] if they will be travelling or restricting their activities due to weather. If you decide after registering for an in-person course that you would like to add the online version of the course, choose the Course C option at registration. The deadline for adding the Course C option is Monday, August 31 at 5 p.m.

Registration Process

  1. Membership: Ensure your SSCL membership is current. SSCL requires an annual membership fee of $5.00 [GST included] to register for any of our courses and activities. The current membership year runs from June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027. If you do not have a current membership, a fee of $5 will be added during registration.
  2. Register Online: Use Amilia SmartRec via SSCL's website: https://artsandscience.usask.ca/sscl
  3. Fee Relief: In alignment with our Vision, Mission, and Values, SSCL is piloting a Fee Relief Program for Fall 2026 Course Registration. Should the cost of a SSCL Course [worth $45.00 & offered Monday to Friday only] restrict you from registering, please contact the SSCL Registrar Team at 306-343-6773 or saskatoonseniorscl@gmail.com. You will be contacted by a member of the Team, and all correspondence will be in strictest confidence. Requests must be submitted before the end of the registration period. You would still be required to pay the $5.00 annual membership fee.
  4. First-Time Users: You will need to create an Amilia SmartRec account. You can start the process via our website: https://artsandscience.usask.ca/sscl. Amilia takes you step-by-step to set up your account.
  5. Having problems? We get it and we can help. Call or text SSCL at 1-306-343-6773 or email us for assistance at saskatoonseniorscl@gmail.com. We know you wouldn’t contact us unless you had run out of options or become seriously frustrated. Our volunteers return phone calls and emails as swiftly as they can.
  6. Confirmation: Check your registration via “My Calendar and Upcoming Events” on your Amilia SmartRec account Home Page. Contact SSCL if confirmation is not received: saskatoonseniorscl@gmail.com or 1-306-343-6773. Your registration remains tentative until payment is received.

What to know about the Courses

  1. SSCL offers in-person and online courses. For regular courses, the $45.00 [GST included] fee pays for either one in-person registration or one online registration. If you register for an in-person course and also want the online option for that same course, you may add online access for an additional $20.00 [GST included]. In-person courses are designated as “A Courses”. Online courses are designated as “B Courses”. The online add-ons to an in-person course are designated as “C Courses”.
  2. In-person courses: All classes [with the exception of the President’s Lecture Series and the Introduction to Printmaking] are held in WILL 225 (Room 225 in the Williams Building at 221 Cumberland Ave. N). On-campus attendees should be aware of potential camera views that include views of attendees. If there is space in the classroom, you can sit further back to avoid being in the view. The President’s Lecture Series is held in Room 146 in the Arts Building and the Introduction to Printmaking is held in room 64 (ground floor in the Murray Building) on the USask Campus.
    1. Online Courses: Prior to classes starting you will receive an email from the SSCL Zoom Squad asking you to enrol your email with Zoom. This is necessary to join the online class. Prior to each class [24 hours and 1 hour prior], you will receive an email from Zoom with the link to that week’s class.
    2. Other: Some courses, such as Studio Arts, cost $150.00 [GST included] which includes all art supplies required. These classes may be located in a different classroom (e.g. Arts Studio in Murray Building). Refer to the course guide for complete details.
  3. Important Zoom Information: Ensure you have a compatible device, internet connection, and familiarity with Zoom. Reference https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us. Test your connection by joining online courses early. Any questions about online courses should be directed to ssclmonitors@gmail.com. The online course monitors check this email before and throughout the class to help.
  4. Online course experience: Online participants may have some differences in their experience, such as Q&A typing and potential limitations in seeing the instructor or blackboard. The classroom instructor is mic’d and will encourage the use of the hand-held mic when people ask questions. The video camera in the room will be capturing the front of the classroom including the presenter, whiteboard, and screen. If the instructor is using slides, they will share the slides so those online can see them on their screens. Online participants can resize their viewing screens. The online monitor is in contact with the in-class monitor throughout the class for troubleshooting purposes.
  5. Payments: Accepted methods: credit card, e-transfer, Interact Visa or Mastercard debit card. Credit Card payments are processed immediately via Amilia SmartRec. To pay via e-transfer, select “Offline Payment” during registration. Send an e-transfer to saskatoonseniorscl@gmail.com and specify the member's name(s) in the message box.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Refunds: Not issued unless the course is cancelled. If a course is cancelled, participants will be notified by email through the Registrar.  If available, participants will be offered a different course for that semester. If an alternate course is not available or acceptable to the participant, a refund will be processed.
  2. For online courses, each device requires separate registrations (one connection per email address). Sharing login details is prohibited. If travelling, check online accessibility. SSCL is not responsible for internet or device performance issues; no refunds will be issued for these.
  3. Courses are not recorded for later viewing. Participants may not record or share live classes (whether in-person or online) or course materials. All course content remains the intellectual property of the instructor.
  4. An instructor may or may not choose to share their slides, reading lists, etc.
  5. Opinions expressed by instructors do not represent SSCL.

By registering, you agree to these terms and conditions.

Public Transit & Parking

Pay parking is available at the Williams Building or at the USask Campus; however, finding a spot during the week can be challenging.

There are two accessible parking spaces behind the Williams Building, near the elevator access. A parking permit issued by USask Parking Services is required. Contact them at 306-966-4509 or parking@usask.ca
