Field Trip Leaders

The USask Museum of Natural Sciences invites applications for student staff positions in our field trip program.

Length of assignment: April 28 to June 13 

Rate of pay: $18 per hour or PSAC rates

Hours: Casual, 3-hour shifts 9am-12pm and/or 11:45am-2:45pm weekdays

Location: USask Museum of Natural Sciences

Education: Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at USask

Experience: Candidates should have an interest and knowledge in science and science communication, and be enthusiastic, conscientious, and reliable. They should have good verbal communication skills and be committed to learning and improving. Experience with children in grades 3-8 from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds would be an asset, as would familiarity with Indigenous knowledge.

Duties: Co-leading and assisting science activities for children in grades 3-8 including welcoming teachers and their classes to the university, giving and facilitating presentations on science topics, helping children make the most of hands-on science, art, and drama activities, giving tours of the museum, and working collaboratively with our staff team.
