Our department offers a range of language courses in Japanese, from Introductory to Intermediate, as well as more advanced courses on popular culture and Japanese cinema.

Students who wish to complete a Certificate in Japanese have the possibility to do a Certificate in Japanese Language and Culture.

Certificate in Japanese Language and Culture

Goals: Gain basic communication skills in Japanese and a better understanding of Japanese culture.

Requirements: 15 cu: JPNS 114.3 and 117, 214.3 and 217.3, 233.3 + 3 cu from HIST 295.3 (Japanese History to 1600) and 296.3 (Japanese History from 1600 to Yesterday).
