PhD student, alumni receive Saskatchewan Book Awards

Three College of Arts & Science alumni were honoured on April 28

College of Arts & Science alumna (BA’07) and current English PhD student Tenille K. Campbell received two Saskatchewan Book Awards during a ceremony in Regina on April 28.

The awards recognize, celebrate and reward the excellence of Saskatchewan writers and publishers.

Campbell received the Rasmussen, Rasmussen & Charowsky Indigenous Peoples’ Writing Award and the O’Reilly Insurance and The Co-operators First Book Award for her book of poetry, #IndianLovePoems, published by Signature Editions.

Other alumni were also recognized at the event.

Islands of Grass by Trevor Herriot (BA’79), published by Coteau Books, was the winner of the University of Saskatchewan Non-Fiction Award and the City of Regina Book Award.

Glass Beads by Dawn Dumont (BA’95), published by Thistledown Press, was the winner of the Muslims for Peace and Justice Fiction Award.
