Nicimos: The Last Rez Christmas Story: A Conversation with Curtis Peeteetuce

Join Curtis Peeteetuce, Artistic Director of the Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre, as he talks about his recently published play, Nicimos, and the rest of the Rez Christmas plays, a series which ran from 2001 to 2014. Curtis will discuss the history and making of the series; the significance of incorporating culture, language and history into theatre; and Indigenous humour. This event is part of ENG 819: Writing Communities, one of a number of Indigenous Literatures classes in the Department of English.

About Curtis Peeteetuce

Curtis Peeteetuce is Cree from the Beardy's & Okemasis First Nation. Since 2001, he has had the honour of working with many talented artists in theatre, radio drama, music and film. Selected highlights include Persephone Theatre (Bannock Republic, A History of Breathing), Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company (SNTC) (Where The Blood Mixes, Thunderstick) CBC (Out in the Cold, Red Moon and Rabbit Fall, season 2).
