The Gabriel Dumont Research Chair in Métis Studies includes a scholarship program to recruit and retain excellent graduate students in the College of Arts and Science and is tied to a desire to further the work of the Gabriel Dumont Chair in Métis Studies, working collaboratively with other students, Métis community and faculty members to support GDI’s mission to promote the renewal and development of Métis culture.
Current Scholarship Holders
The inaugural Gabriel Dumont Graduate Scholarship in Métis Studies (2022-2023), valued at $20,000, is currently held by two graduate students.
Sarah Pocha-Tait is a Master of Arts Student in the Department of Archaeology in USask's College of Arts and Science.
Susan Shacter is a Master of Arts Student in the Political Science Department of USask's Colleage of Arts and Science.
