
Elaine Muth
Watercolour, Drawing and CalligraphyElaine is a painter, calligrapher, illustrator and musician with extensive experience in watercolour, ink drawing and lettering, and mixed media. Her work resides in the collections of numerous corporate, educational and community organizations, and she has been an art educator since 1975.
Elaine Muth is a painter, calligrapher, illustrator, graphic designer and musician. Her paintings, drawings and calligraphy have been included in group and solo exhibitions across Canada, and she has been an art educator since 1975. She has designed and illustrated books for children, including music books and ecology manuals for school use. Her calligraphic skills and her experience in illustration are also evident in her handmade artist's books. She has created art and design work for clients as diverse as the Mendel Art Gallery, Barclay's Bank, City of Saskatoon, Potash Corp, YWCA Saskatoon, Wanuskewin National Heritage Park, Thistledown Press, Folkfest, and the Saskatoon Club, among numerous other businesses, institutions, and private collectors.
As a medical illustrator in the Department of Anatomy, College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, she created illustrations for a Computer Assisted Learning Program for Health Science students. Her fine hand-drawn calligraphy graced the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan graduation certificates for 40 years. Elaine is included in the Biographical Dictionary of Saskatchewan Artists, and her work has been published in ABC Canada: the First Contemporary Collection of Canadian Calligraphy, 1996.
