Ages 8-14:
Sculpture Characters, Creatures and Objects

In-person with Adrian Golban

Course Description

In this hands-on, imagination-filled class, students will explore three-dimensional artmaking through shape, texture, material and story. From favorite characters to magical creatures and wild inventions, students will bring their ideas to life using clay and reclaimed materials. They’ll discover techniques for creating dimensional artworks while learning how artists use sculpture to communicate and express ideas.

Participants will develop their knowledge of clay construction and engineering, spatial thinking, and hand-eye coordination, while cultivating artistic confidence. Each child will create unique sculptures that reflect their imagination, interests, and personal style. Expect experimentation, problem-solving, discovery, laughter, and artistic growth.

Registration includes the cost of materials. Select colours of underglaze (clear, white, black, blue, yellow & red) will be provided. Students who prefer to use other colours may bring their own personal underglaze colours, purchased from Tree Pottery Supply https://treesaskatoon.com/

All materials and equipment are included.
Please bring a water bottle, snack and a work shirt.
Art classes may involve materials that can stain or damage clothing. Students are encouraged to wear clothing suitable for messy activities.
