The Impressionist Landscape Workshop
In-person with Robin Adair
Course Description
Impressionism is one of the most influential styles in painting in the last one hundred and fifty years. In this workshop, we will draw inspiration from the French Impressionists, as well as the styles of key members of the Group of Seven, along with more contemporary Saskatchewan painters. We will explore foundational impressionist techniques, such as the broken brush mark, optical colour mixing, and expressive impasto layering. Students can expect a day of hands-on learning and experimentation in a supportive and constructive environment. This workshop is for beginner and intermediate painters who have some familiarity with the acrylic medium.
