From signs and circuit boards, to textiles and fine art, screenprinting is everywhere! Screenprinting is a versatile printmaking method where ink is pushed through a mesh stencil onto a flat surface such as paper or fabric. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to create and print an edition of their own original artwork on paper using a photo sensitive screen and hand drawn transparencies. Day one will cover image design, transparency creation, and screen preparation. Day two will be devoted to ink mixing, setting up the print station, preparing paper, and hand printing an edition of original artwork. While there will be time to create designs from scratch, students are encouraged to come with 2-4 original image ideas to help get them started.
