Intro to Wet Felting Workshop

In this project based one day workshop students will create a cowl out of merino wool, silk and other fibres using wet felting skills that include nuno felting, resist felting and shibori felting techniques. This project is a good introduction to Felting I.

Syllabus

Students will learn:
  • Calculation of shrinkage in felting
  • Creation and use of resists to make a seamless cowl
  • Nuno felting concepts
  • Wool layout concepts

Supplies

Materials provided in class by instructor include:

  • ~2 oz of merino wool
  • assortment of other fibres
  • silk pieces
  • bubble wrap
  • soap
  • resist materials
