As a kid in school, the bright colours of paint really grabbed my attention and that is when I first started making art. Later, when I started getting into landscape art, I made paintings of waterfalls. I went to places with my family, such as Niagara Falls in Ontario. I liked the way I saw the water falling, so I made my own waterfall designs. For my exhibition, I have made paintings of mountain and sky landscapes, partly because of the memories I have of visiting beautiful locations in Canada. The texture and colours of mountains look beautiful to me and remind me of happy moments in my life. When I paint skies, I experience the calm feelings I get when I look at a real sky. Art for me means an escape from the everyday — there is something about it that helps my mind and soul. Painting is awesome!
