Lynne Swenson

2024 Community Arts and Artisanship Certificate Graduate

The subject matter that inspires my artwork is nature, whether it be a landscape, an animal, or flowers. This inspiration comes from growing up and living in rural areas in beautiful parts of the Prairies.

I began painting many years ago. I have used many mediums including oils, acrylics, pastels and pen and inks but my favourite remains water colour. The magic of water colour starts with its loose transparent texture and its unpredictable nature. Finished images range from soft transparency to bright vibrant works with many layers. It is a challenge to master water colour, but it is a challenge I enjoy and will continue to pursue.
