Visiting Artist Residency: Zhang Song Tao
Chinese sculptor is visiting artist at the Department of Art & Art History
Chinese artist Zhang Song Tao, of the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts, will be visiting the Department of Art & Art History this March. This residency was organized by Xiao Han, a recent MFA graduate, and the Department of Art & Art History in partnership with the Confucius Institute. Zhang will be working in AKA Artist-run Gallery and PAVED Arts' event space in an exhibition that will run February 27 to March 17.
Zhang graduated from the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts wiht a Bachelor Degree in 1993 and obtained a Masters Degree in 2002. He is currently the director of the Sculpture Department at the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts. Zhang is also actively involved in the promotion of sculpture and is a director of China Sculpture Institute. Zhang's work has been exhibited in more than 30 art events in China and abroad, including Belgium and South Korea.
