Lab Infractions

Please note that any of the following actions:

  1. Bringing food or drink into any Arts & Science computer lab location. NOTE: All food & drink (including empty containers) on the desk will be assumed to belong to the current user. EXCEPTION: Sealed water bottles are allowed.
  2. Game playing (the computers are provided for academic use only).
  3. The sharing of your NSID login account with anyone.
  4. The viewing of inappropriate material.

Will result in the following response from our office:

First Infraction:

You will receive an email describing the offence along with the time, location and computer ID of the system you were working on.

Second Infraction:

Your NSID account privileges in the Arts & Science computer labs will be immediately suspended. You will be required to visit our Support Centre in Arts 42 and sign a form before your account is reinstated. You will also receive an email describing the offence along with the time, location and computer ID of the system you were working on.

Third Infraction:

Your NSID account privileges in the Arts & Science computer labs will be immediately suspended. You will be required to visit our support Centre in Arts 42 and receive authorization from the IT Manager or his designate before privileges are restored. You will once again receive an email describing the offence along with the time, location and computer ID of the system you were working on.
