Watercolour III: Open Studio
In Open Studio, the syllabus is directed by the individual participant and/or the instructor. There is opportunity for participation in any activities in the other levels, for expanding or focusing your skills, for pursuing mixed media works, and for trying watercolour on various substrates. There will be ongoing one-on-one review and discussion with the instructor.
You should have the required materials for Watercolour II as well as the following colours of paint:
- Cadmium lemon (Winsor Newton) or cadmium lemon yellow (Holbein)
- Raw umber
- Winsor violet dioxanine (Winsor Newton)
In addition you will need supplies (including photos) to facilitate any specific paintings that you might be interested in working on.
If you are interested in painting with watercolour on absorbent ground please bring:
- Small hardboard panels, or canvases - low profile is fine, or canvas boards (there are really inexpensive ones at Dollarama)
- Absorbent ground (white)
- Brushes, and rollers to apply the ground, and Krylon fixative will be provided
If you are interested in painting on Ampersand Aquaboard please purchase a small board, or the package of 3.
Yupo is also a fun surface to try your paints on if you desire.
