9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday
Room 117 Williams Building
$250 plus $55 silver
Prerequisite: Silversmithing I

This class will focus on designing and making a more complex piece that builds on the skills learned in the beginner class. More attention will be paid to learning and controlling best practices and skills needed to execute and finish the student’s individual design. A number of techniques for making simple settings and how to secure gemstones and pearls in these will be introduced to the class. Each student will make a bezel setting and learn to secure the stone in the bezel as part of the piece you make. Students must have attended the beginner class or have the instructor’s permission in order to participate in this class.

Supplies

The Silvermithing I toolkit tool kit is required. Silver is purchased at the time of registration, and you will receive it the first day of class. In addition, please also bring a pencil/pen and paper to sketch out your designs and patterns.
