TWO RECENT MFA IN WRITING GRADUATES PLACE FIRST AND SECOND IN JOHN V. HICKS LONG MANUSCRIPT AWARD FOR POETRY
Congratulations to Katherine Lawrence and Shannon McConnell!
Katherine Lawrence has won the John V. Hicks Long Manuscript Award for Poetry for her manuscript "Homebodies," and Shannon McConnell has placed second for her manuscript "The Burden of Gravity."
The award will be presented at the Saskatchewan Writers' Guild annual conference in Saskatoon on October 20, at the Park Town Hotel. Congratulations, also, to third-place winner Joy M. Brown for her manuscript "Heavy."
Shannon and Katherine graduated from the U of S' MFA in Writing program in Fall 2017.
