Department of Music seeks David L. Kaplan Chair in Music

The Department of Music invites applications for the David L. Kaplan Chair in Music. This tenurable position, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, will support the performance, the research, scholarly and artistic work (RSAW), and the teaching activities of an accomplished performer, educator, and scholar in Strings (violin, viola, cello or double bass). The position commences July 1, 2018.

The mandate of the David L. Kaplan Chair in Music is to develop and maintain a strong string program that attracts undergraduate and graduate students to the Department of Music. The Kaplan Chair is expected to contribute to the Department of Music's commitments to: innovative teaching; RSAW; community outreach; and internationalization, which includes cultivating relationships with partner organizations in other countries (with a focus on China).
