Title:

Peeking at the atomic-level structure of advanced inorganic and hybrid materials by solid-state NMR spectroscopy

Solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy has the unique ability to probe locally at a nucleus of interest providing local- and medium-range structural information within virtually any solid. Taking advantage of one of the most powerful and versatile spectroscopic tools, our group specializes in unraveling complex atomic- and molecular-level structure within solids. A casual overview of advanced multinuclear magnetic resonance techniques (e.g., high polarization, dipolar recoupling and variable temperature) and NMR spectroscopy’s Herculean strength for solids will be discussed. Recent advances in past and current research will be presented comprising the far-reaching ability of NMR to study catalytic environments, minerals and disordered materials.
