The Department of Chemistry has a regular weekly seminar series during the fall and winter terms. In 2023-2024, weekly seminars will be presented on Fridays at 1:30 pm in Thorvaldson 159 with some speakers joining remotely, but the schedule may vary. The Department of Chemistry, together with the Department of Chemical Engineering, also co-hosts the yearly prestigious Spinks Lecture series. Named to recognize the many contributions of former Chemistry Professor, Dean and University President, Dr. J.W.T. Spinks, this series has attracted a distinctive series of speakers, all eminent leaders in modern chemistry research.
