Off-Campus Program Information

The College of Arts and Science offers first and some second year programs at seven designated off-campus sites in Saskatchewan: Cumberland Regional College (Melfort), Northlands College and NORPAC (La Ronge), North West Regional College (North Battleford), Parkland Regional College (Yorkton), Prairie West Regional College (Kindersley), Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Arts and Science (SIAST) Woodland Campus (Prince Albert) and St. Peter's College (Muenster). Students applying for admission to any one of these seven sites may be admitted as full-time or part-time students.

Programs available at each of the sites offer a variety of courses from all program areas in the College of Arts and Science: Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Languages and Fine Arts. All degree courses offered through the off-campus designated sites have exactly the same value as courses offered on-campus. The lab content in the Natural Science courses is also exactly the same. University instructors are subject to the same standards as sessional instructors on-campus, and must be approved by the Department Heads and College Dean. Although the majority of courses are offered with instructors in the classroom, the off-campus sites also participate in innovative distance education opportunities, and offer some courses through televised mixed mode, and web-based delivery. Beginning your university education at one of the off-campus sites can be a rewarding experience. Off-campus students enjoy the advantages of small class size, increased opportunity for instructor contact, and friendships of classmates — some of whom they have known throughout high school.

Admission Requirements for Arts and Science Off-Campus

Students intending in pursuing studies in the College of Arts and Science through the designated off-campus sites should apply and be accepted to the College of Arts and Science. To be eligible for admission students must have complete secondary level standing (24 credits) in Saskatchewan or equivalent with a minimum overall average of 70% in the required subjects. Please refer to the University of Saskatchewan Calendar for more detail and a list of required subjects. Students not eligible for regular admission may be admitted under the Transition or Special Admission category. The deadline for first-year admission applications is August 15.

On-Campus Registration in Subsequent Years

Arts and Science students at an off-campus site who are eligible to return can select to register for courses offcampus, on-campus in Saskatoon or a combination of both. An application for re-admission or transfer is not required. Students applying for admission to other Colleges will be evaluated on the same basis as students who complete studies in Saskatoon. All criteria for admission to that College must be met.
