Environment and Society

Become part of a multidisciplinary program, taught by dynamic professors and experts in the field. Study environmental science, resource management, and environmental philosophy and policy. The U of S Advantage

New to the College of Arts and Science, the B.A.Sc. (Bachelor of Arts and Science) is a unique program designed to expose you to ideas about the environment. We focus on natural sciences, social sciences and humanities. You will take courses in a diverse range of topics including the following:


Obtain your B.A.Sc. at the University of Saskatchewan. Learn from our outstanding faculty. Study many different areas. Be one of a unique group of people with a Bachelor of Arts and Science. We prepare you for employment in several industries, further studies in a graduate program, or both!

The Department of Geography and Planning provides a stimulating environment for exploring the nature and diversity of the Earth and its inhabitants. Our programs include training in all branches of geography with a special emphasis on the environment and its resources, GIS and remote sensing, urban and cultural studies. The department’s research facilities include the Centre for Hydrology, where the focus is on prairie and cold region hydrology, river systems and hydroecology.

Majoring in Environment and Society

If you want to pursue a major in Environment and Society, you can work toward a B.A.Sc., which is a four year program. You may also join the Honours program if you meet those requirements. You may have the opportunity to be part of the Co-operative Education Program Option offered by the Department of Geography and Planning.

Careers

With your B.A.Sc., you will be in demand in many industry sectors. Your degree will provide you with a unique and highly competitive set of skills in this important area of study, designed for employment in a broad range of areas related to the environment.
