The Science Ambassador Program

About Us:

The Science Ambassador Program pairs senior undergraduate and graduate University of Saskatchewan students with northern community schools for long-term (4-6 week) placements each spring. Science Ambassadors work with local educators to provide engaging culturally-responsive, hands-on science education activities in the classrooms.  The goal of the program is to provide science expertise and education support to schools that lack dedicated science teachers, have limited science resources, and have limiited access to off-site enrichment opportunities due to geographic location.

The Science Ambassadors work with teachers to provide hands-on science activities in the classroom, facilitate classroom discussions about science and learning, and mentor students as they explore post-secondary science education and career opportunities.

We are currently seeking additional sponsors to support our 2018 Science Ambassador Program.  If you are interested in supporting this initiative, please contact Victoria Harms, Science Outreach Coordinator (victoria.harms@usask.ca, or phone 306.966.5776)
