Scholarships and Awards
The Department of Psychology offers three undergraduate awards. Interested students can apply through the University of Saskatchewan's Scholarships, Bursaries, and Awards page
The Department of Psychology Bursaries
The Department awards two bursaries each year valued at $300. One bursary is awarded to a student entering their 3rd year in Psychology, while the other is awarded to a student entering their 4th year in Psychology. Applicants must have received a cumulative average of 70% on all credit units in Psychology. Selection is made based on financial need. The application deadline for these bursaries is November 1st.
The Department of Psychology Scholarships
The Department awards two $300 scholarships each year to two high achieving students. One scholarship is awarded to a student entering their third year of Psychology, the other is awarded to a student entering their 4th year. Applicants must have a cumulative average of 80% on all credit units in Psychology. The application deadline is June 1st for these scholarships
The Gordon A. McMurray Prize
The Gordon A. McMurray Prize is awarded annually to a student completing the B.A. Honours degree in Psychology. Selection is based on outstanding academic achievement. The recipient will also have shown promise of becoming a contributor to the research or practice of Psychology. This prize is named in honour of Gordon A. McMurray, the first Head of the Psychology Department in 1950 and is valued at $100. Dr. McMurray remained as Head of the Department of Psychology from 1950-1975. No application is required. The recipient of this prize is selected by the department.
