Illustration fo Comics

Are you interested in comics, cartoon, graphic novels or do you like to draw? This 10-week class will take a broad look at the different aspects involved in illustrating a comic or graphic novel using a variety of materials. Narrative, page layout, timing and sequences, character generation, composition and body language will be explored.

Age: 10-13 (firm)

10 weeks
Monday evenings: Jan. 16th to March 27th
* No class on Monday February 20th

Spring Break Camp: Art Exploration

An age appropriate week long full day camp designed to provide children who love arts activities with a safe, fun, exciting and creative atmosphere in which to enjoy their school break. Students will learn techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, and sculpture. Weather permitting; daily outdoor time is a compoenent of this flexible schedule.

Age: 7-9 (firm)

Spring Break Camp: Stop Motion Animation

This week long full day camp will build confidence and new skills for children ages 10-13. The purpose of this camp is to teach students how to make high-quality stop-motion animations using found and recyled materials and inexpensive technology and equipment. Throughout the week, students will learn the basics of storyboarding, how to build fully posable puppet armatures and miniature sets, and techniques for creating fluid and engaging stop-motion animations complete with music and sound effects. On the afternoon of the final day, parents and freinds are invited to a viewing of the students' digital shorts and each participant will receive their completed film to take home on a USB.

$295 - Note: During this camp, we will be utilizing free stop-motion apps available on the App Store. Although it is not a requirement, students are encouraged to bring their own devices to camp.
