Prerequisite: Painting I or similar experience.
Explore the expressive nature of high flow acrylics and inks, learn niche techniques and apply them to exercises that may include landscape, abstract, poster and cover designs and portraits. Add spontaneity and new energy to your creative practice with this workshop.

Painting I (Mon pm)

Prerequisite: none
Develop your personal expression as you paint with acrylics. Focus on colour mixing and colour theory, and incorporate application techniques that include all prima, glazing underpainting, and scumbling as well as palette knife application.

Painting II (Tues pm)

Prerequisite: Painting I or comparable experience

Continue to develop techniques in oils and acrylics learned in Painting I. Explore more complex applications (underpainting, alla prima, scumble and glaze painting) and composition as you further develop your personal style.

Painting II (Wed pm)

Prerequisite: Painting I or comparable experience

Continue to develop techniques you have learned through palette management and colour mixing, brush loading and handling, alternative application techniques, use of mediums, etc. Crate effective pictorial spaces and develop a critical assessment method for yourself.

Painting: Open Project (Thurs pm)

Prerequisite: Painting I or similar experience.
Work from any subject matter using materials of your choosing with the support of an experienced instructor. Advice and class critique encourage completion of technically sound work with an emphasis on personal growth and development.

Watercolour: Beginner to Advanced (2 Weekend Workshop)

Prerequisite: none

Explore different watercolour processes beginning with the tradition of British painting, and move on to approaches such as dry brush and wet on wet.  Use of colours, brushes, papers and colour theory with fundamentals of composition will be covered.
