Susan Varga’s beautiful exhibition of drawings interrogates the potential of the abstract gesture to 

represent psychic life. Playing with a vast array of dimensional perspectives, she works with 

topographical maps, star charts, canvas and transparencies to unhinge fixed descriptions of the self. 

For Varga, the map and the carnal gesture become oscillating backdrops to both the smallest of life- 

events and the unfathomable reaches of the cosmos.
