U of S Jazz Ensemble & Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra

This will be a joint Sasktel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival concert during which the U of S Jazz Ensemble, directed by Department of Music professor Dean McNeill, and the Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra (SYJO), directed by Nick Fanner, will each play half. 

The U of S Jazz Ensemble has commissioned and premiered many new works for large jazz ensemble and has released six albums. The SYJO is an auditioned ensemble that is open to musicians ages 14-21.
