Book Launch: "Noventa poemas de amor" by Julio Torres-Recinos

Professor Julio Torres-Recinos will be launching his latest book of poetry on Feb. 29 at McNally Robinson in Saskatoon

Professor Julio Torres-Recinos (Languages, Linguistics & Cultural Studies) will be hosting a launch for his latest book of poetry, Noventa poemas de amor, on:

Time: Monday, Feb. 29, 7 p.m.

Place: McNally Robinson (3130 8th St. E., Saskatoon)

All are welcome to attend. 

Torres-Recinos, originally from El Salvador, is a noted author of seven books of poetry and short stories. He has presented poetry readings in several countries including the United States, Spain, Germany, Italy, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Australia and Canada. His work has appeared in magazines, newspapers, anthologies and on social media, and has been translated into French, English and Italian. In 1992, he received first poetry prize in a competition organized by the Spanish Cultural Celebration in Toronto, ON.

Noventa poemas de amor (Ninety love poems) is an anthology of poems on the subject of love selected from previous books as well from his new book, Los rostros del miedo (The faces of fear) to be published this year.

Torres-Recinos will be accompanied by guitarist, Rodolfo Pino-Robles.
