Job Posting - Assistant Professor in Regional and Urban Planning

The Department of Geography and Planning in the College of Arts and Science at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications from qualified individuals for a full time, tenure-track position in the area of Regional and Urban Planning at the Assistant Professor level effective July 1, 2018. The successful candidate will join an established team that delivers the Canadian Institute of Planners accredited Regional and Urban Planning (RUP) program within the Department. The successful candidate will be required to: teach graduate and undergraduate courses; supervise student research projects; initiate and lead an independent research program; compete successfully for external funding to support this research program; and undertake relevant administrative activities, including meetings and committee work.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in planning or related discipline is required, as well as a degree from a professionally accredited planning program. Applicants must be a member of, or eligible for membership in, the Canadian Institute of Planners. We seek candidates who have: effective classroom teaching skills; demonstrated interest in student mentorship; an interest and ability to engage in scholarly activities as evidenced by established or developing research initiatives; a strong or emerging research program; and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
