Research at ICCC

Working Groups

Over the past two years, the ICCC has provided grants to Working Groups within the division of Humanities and Fine Arts which are used to support visitors, collaborators, or students, and cover related costs. In each group, interdisciplinary scholars and artists plan and initiate research or engage in other scholarly exchanges.

ICCC Fellowships

A. Fellowship for Community-based Intellectuals/Activists/Artists

Purpose: to support scholarly activities of community-based intellectuals to work in partnership with a Divisional faculty member on an academic project, a major grant application, and or project development.
 
B. Fellowships for Aboriginal Intellectuals/Activists/Artists  - Intensive and Expanded Conversations

i) Intensive Conversations (up to $1500)  Purpose:  to work intensively on an existing or nascent collaboration in support of creative & meaningful interdisciplinary research activities or academic programs.

ii)  Expanded Conversations (up to $3,000)   Purpose: to collaboratively create and/or conduct creative & meaningful interdisciplinary research activities or academic programs.
 
C. Fellowship for Visiting Scholars – Linking, Magnet and Creative Space


i)  Linking Fellowships ($1,000-7,000)   Purpose: to build upon existing or nascent collaborations in support of creative and meaningful interdisciplinary research activities or academic programs.

ii)  Magnet Fellowships ($1,000-7,000)  Purpose: to promote U of S resources and the broader reputation of the University by attracting scholars and artists here to advance studies and knowledge related to our existing and/or emerging strengths and resources

iii) Creative Space Fellowships (up to $1,000)   Purpose: to promote and facilitate creativity in the fullest sense, and attract exciting people doing interesting work that sparks imagination and creativity within our own faculty and students.

ICCC Graduate Student Recruitment Research Stipend

The ICCC is committed to attracting and retaining the best and brightest graduate students who share the vision of the ICCC. To support the recruitment efforts of top students, the ICCC will provide two Humanities and Fine Arts graduate students two years of top-up research funding.

ICCC Young Scholars/Artists Development Grant

The ICCC is committed to building research capacity at the undergraduate level. To enrich the undergraduate research experience, the ICCC will offer matching funds for up to two USTEP students within the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts.
