Three Day Road

This award-winning novel tells of the reunion of a soldier and his aunt, the last Oji-Cree medicine woman, shortly after the end of the Great War in 1919. The novel interweaves the brutality of the trenches with the lushness of the Canadian north as it explores the worldviews represented by each.

Joseph Boyden

Born in Willowdale, ON, Joseph Boyden now divides his time between northern Ontario and Louisiana, where he teaches creative writing at the University of New Orleans. Boyden’s third novel The Orenda recently won the 2014 edition of Canada Reads, while his debut novel Three Day Road received the Amazon/Books in Canada First Novel Award and the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize.
